1) Club Shakas Communities is not a swimming group and will not teach me how to swim. 2) I will enter the beach and water at my own risk. 3) I am a confident swimmer. 4) I know what to do in rough waters. 5) I understand that whilst the Club Shakas Communities team will cancel any events that may increase risk such as storms or high swell, I am entering the ocean at my own risk. 6) I acknowledge Club Shakas Communities will be taking photos and videos at events which may include myself. 7) I understand that whilst I can tell the Club Shakas Communities team that I would not like to be included in photos, Club Shakas Communities takes a group photo which will be uploaded to social media, and therefore if I am in this photo - it will be posted regardless of previous consent choices. 8) I understand that there are risks that the Club Shakas Communities team are not in control of, which include but are not limited to: sharp rocks, sharp objects in sand, seaweed, low visibility, waves, sandbacks, swell, wind, rain, thunder/lightning, animals, rips, dunes, buried objects in ocean floor, members of the public at the beaches, weather, surfers, other beachgoers, and other attendees behaviour. 9) If I am pregnant I will be cautious and will not engage in extreme behaviour such as jumping off pontoons, running, diving, or surfing in dangerous conditions. 10) If I injure myself at a Club Shakas Communities event, I understand I need to seek my own medical assistance after the event. 11) I understand that some Club Shakas Communities events are held at times when beaches are not patrolled. 12) I know how to flag down a member of the Club Shakas Communities team if I am struggling in the water. 13) If I am ill, I will not come to an event. 14) I understand Club Shakas Communities events are catered for women, people who identify as women, transgender women, and non-binary folk. 15) I will not bring a male or transgender male to an event. 16) I understand that whilst Club Shakas Communities asks attendees not to bring men or transgender men to Club Shakas Communities events, the Club Shakas Communities team is not responsible for who attends. 17) If I am feeling uncomfortable at an event, I will let a Club Shakas Communities team member know. 18) I understand that Club Shakas Communities is a volunteer not-for-profit business and aims to create a safe space. 19) I understand that if I do not agree to understand this list, I am at a larger risk when attending Club Shakas Communities events. 20) I acknowledge that any advice or information provided is for general informational purposes only and should not be considered professional or expert advice.
